Woman heroically dives into lake... to save her iPhone5

How far would you go to save your iPhone? The answer for one Guangxi woman: about two meters beneath the water's surface.
Last Thursday, a woman was spending some quality time in Liuzhou's Longtan Park, only to accidentally drop her phone in the lake. Without hesitation, she threw off her coat and leaped into the water, coming up three or four times for a breath, only to plunge back down and continue her desperate search.

NetEase reports that one eyewitness named Mr. Deng said that he was walking around the lake when he heard a loud splashing sound. He assumed an accident must have occurred and hurried over, only to find a young lady with long hair, wearing a pink sweater and black glasses four or five meters away from the shore, coming up from the water.

"When I first saw her I thought she was looking for fish, I never thought she was looking for a phone!" Mr. Deng commented. He says he watched as the woman came back up three or four times before finally emerging with a phone clutched in her left hand. Wearing a triumphant smile on her face, she made her way to shore and was helped up by passersby.
Mr. Deng said that the phone's screen was clearly broken, but its vibration function was still working, so that's something? Nothing a bag of uncooked rice can't fix.

Park managers remarked that the actions taken by the woman were very dangerous, since while the normal depth of the water is around two meters, the center of the lake is even deeper, so no casual swimming, folks. Maybe sure to drop your phone in the shallow end.

This heroic salvage operation follows right on the heels of one brave auntie diving into a lake to save an 8-year-old boy and another attention-shy dude plunging into a freezing river to rescue a 4-year-old.
But it can hardly be seen as surprising as Chinese have shown they will do just about anything to get their hands on a precious iPhone, from renting out their girlfriend to selling their kidney.
