LOOK: Beijing commuters strip down to celebrate No Pants Subway Ride 2016

While not nearly as big of a deal as in other world cities, a gaggle of commuters boarded the Beijing Metro earlier this week in their coats, hats, sunglasses, masks and underwear for the annual No Pants Subway Ride.

The minus 7 degree temperature outside didn't scare off these brave exhibitionists who had pictures of their bare legs subversively snapped by fellow subway-riders that somehow later popped up online.

The event, organized by New York based group Improv Everywhere, involved tens of thousands of participants in 60 cities across the globe this year.

The last time we reported on No Pants Subway Ride was back in 2013, when a brave group of laowai in Shanghai got gawked at. But as one participant pointed out:
"We got stared at a lot. But actually foreigners always get stared at in the metro in China, so this was nothing out of the ordinary really."
